Roman Glass Neptune Signet (Ready to Ship)

$3,800.00
Sold Out

This is the piece that started the Neptune Collection! Made with sand from Dubois Beach in Stonington Borough, this signet ring features a faceted piece of ancient Roman glass. Each “prong” is a single grain of sand.

This 2,000 year old glass was produced during the period of the Roman Empire. Ruling the Middle East, the Romans were able to melt down sand into glass in furnaces they created. The raw, chunked glass was shipped throughout the Roman Empire where workshops re-melted the glass to make vessels and other artifacts using glassblowing techniques. This ancient glass is a milestone in humanity’s progress. This “stone” was cut from ancient rough glass in Bangkok.

Scattered along the top of the signet are six antique diamonds. This ring is not hollowed out on the inside and is comfortably heavy.

Size 6.5, cannot be resized. This ring is ready to ship.
